Fiberglass Pool Installation

Maverick Pool Installation Steps

1

Choose Your Design

Best of Both Worlds! Maverick Pools and Spas is a certified installer for both Barrier Reef Pools as well as Thursday Fiberglass Pools. This means a greater selection when choosing your shape, size and features of your pool.

2

Layout & Placement

Maverick Pools offers a step by step process for installation. An installer will meet with you to discuss the placement of your new pool, as well as any landscaping wishes that are relevant to the site. The dig sheet will provide measurements accurate to less than an inch so that excavators can create a hole large enough for it to fit. All preparation must be completed before excavation begins.

3

Get Diggin'!

The excavator and backhoe remove the grass, and then the installer uses the dig sheet to check levels of the hole. The dig sheet provides measurements for length, width, and depth. When digging, you can use an excavator to get the excavation done quickly, but you will also need a backhoe to ensure a level site that is wide enough for your pool.

4

Gravel Bed

After excavation is completed, a bed of gravel is laid on the floor to give a base for the pool. Screed bars are set up as guides for the slope to make the screeding process simple.

5

Delivery of Your Pool

Your pool is delivered on a low trailer that is specifically designed to transport swimming pool shells. Along with your pool, the filtration equipment is delivered at this time. Once the shell is on site we remove it from the delivery truck and place it in your yard. Every aspect of the installation process will be handled by our knowledgeable technicians at Maverick Pools so you can enjoy your new pool without worrying about anything else.

6

Plumbing & Backfill

The basic steps of plumbing a pool include fitting a skimmer box, installing deep end suction fittings and return fittings. Pipes are then installed from these items to the pump and filter. We also recommend installing a groundwater access pipe/hydrostatic pressure release. After these steps are complete, the pump, filter and optional salt system are installed. Backfill material must be installed and can be gravel or flowable backfill depending on the project requirements.

7

Rebar Reinforcement

The concrete pool wall is fabricated with rebar, which gives it unique strength and flexibility to resist twisting and cracking. Re-enforcing rebar is attached to the perimeter of the pool for strength, after which a bond beam is created by pouring concrete around the rebar. This footing/bond beam makes the pool much stronger and gives stability to coping finish, which comes in the next step.

Final Hardscapes

Maverick Pools offers a full line of swimming pool pavers and products, such as coping, coping systems and more. When installing the coping, many dealers install travertine to augment the beauty of the pool. Once the paver coping is installed, landscaping and fencing can be added.
